my good friends, wendy and andrew, had their son's bar mitzvah a couple of weeks ago. it was a beautiful ceremony and it was really emotional to see davis on the bimah (and to see wendy getting teary eyed). i offered to take some family photos before the ceremony as a gift and wendy has been soooo patient with me as i've been juggling several sessions and am running behind on proofing hers.
i was hoping to take a bunch of photos outside, but as luck would have it hurricane gustav was blowing through and it was pouring (POURING) rain. so we settled for the sanctuary and the incandescent lighting. thankfully, wendy and andrew aren't formal folks so we got a bunch of casual shots that really show their special bond with their firstborn.
