we had a small, waaaay casual pool party for jack's 4th birthday yesterday (his real birthday isn't until tomorrow).  the party was planned for 2-4 pm, but thunderstorms started at 3 pm and the lifeguards closed the pool.  a few of the kids came back to our house to play but it ended up working out really well; we had an 11-hour trip home from hilton head the day before and we were all exhausted.  one hour at the pool was more than enough for us (but we were glad to see our friends and family and to catch up with everyone).
